Chapter 13 – Strong Will

Suzy was a woman with a strong will. Once she had an idea in mind, she was going to stick to it; and now she had a big plan. A plan she believed would bring her peace and happiness. She was the only one who knew what she was going to do next; everyone else was clueless.

The next few days went by quickly, and soon the weekend was over and the girls had to go back to school. Miley had been awake for nearly an hour now, and she escalated the stairs heading towards her girls room. She walked into the room and opened the lights;wanting to wake everyone up to get ready for school. As she turned aroud she was shocked, Suzy’s bed was completely empty. At first Miley just stared, she said nothing and didn’t move an inch. Once it finally came into her head the her daughter was gone, she ran back down the stairs yelling for Dallas. By yelling, she woke up the other two girls. When Miley saw them coming down the stairs she spoke softly to Dallas, not wanting Sapphire or Sofia to here.

“Suzy’s missing, did you see her last night or this morning?”

Dallas had a puzzled look on his face. “Yes, last night she went to bed and I only fell asleep nearly an hour after her. This morning however I thought she was still sleeping in her room.”

“Ya well she’s gone.”

“What do you mean she’s gone. Like a missing person?”

“No I mean like a runaway.”

“You think…”

Miley just nodded with a frown. There was a moment of silence where the parents were thinking deeply. Miley spoke first, “We need to go to the police.”

“I don’t know Miley…”

“This is our daughter we’re talking about here. We can’t just say ‘oh she ran away, now lets get on with our lives’.”

“You’re right, you’re absolutly right.”

Sapphire and Sofia were off to school without being told of this dilema. Instead Miley told them Suzy was at the library and would meet them at school later on. Dallas and Miley went to the pollice station and tried to explain the situation, but the police officer didn’t take them seriously. He kept saying how it took atleast 24 hours before it became a missing person, and that in the meantime he couldn’t help. Dallas was furious with the situation, but Miley helped him keep calm. Without the help of the police, they went looking around everywhere in town. The check the pool, the beach, the bistro, the gym, central park, the library; everywhere, yet the couldn’t find her. They thought about going to see the cult, but they had no idea where it was and how to get in.

The sun was beginning to set, and it was long before the sky was covered in stars. The first night, Suzy was in the mountains, near the ocean. I was looking up at the stars, and I can feel the wind blow in my hair. I wasn’t sure if I was happy, or afraid. Maybe I was excited, or maybe it was just loneliness. I had no idea what I was feeling, but I did know that I was cold and hungry. Really hungry. I hadn’t bothered packing money, or food because I figured the cult wasn’t too far away and I would have had food and shelter over there. I didn’t want to sleep outside in the cold, wet nature but I didn’t have much of a choice. I was only halfway through my trip and I still had hours to walk before arriving at the cult. At this point, I wasn’t even sure if I wanted to join … Here I was alone and in silence; it was all I ever wanted but I realized it was scary. when I was at home, I wanted to escape all the drama and noise, but now that I’m here, I miss all that. I miss my sisters, I miss my dad, and my mom. I had no idea what to do, or what I wanted anymore…

The next day, Miley and dallas had no choice but to tell their girls what was going on. Suzy had been missing for nearly a full day and the girls were becoming suspisious.

Miley asked the girls questions hoping for a helpful answer. “Has Suzy ever mentioned to you about moving out, or going on an adventure, or maybe .. a cult?”

Both the girls shook their heads. Miley had tears forming in her eyes, so Dallas continued to speak. “We believe Suzy has ran away. She spoke to us abotu joining an art cult, but we refused and a few days later she’s missing.”

Sapphire and Sofia started to talk in the same time. They asked questions and fired accusations.

After a long talk, many questions, and thousands of tears shed everyone was broken hearted. Sapphire and Sofia both missed school that day, because they were too upset with what was going on. At suppertime the table was extremely quiet; the only noise being forks and knives hitting onto the plates. They tried calling friends, and public places to let them know about Suzy, but everytime they asked no one had seen her.

It was the second night now that I had left home and things weren’t going as planned. Still I wasn’t arrived at my destination and I was sore from all the walking. I terribly missed my family, and I was dying to have a full meal. I layed down on a bench and tried to fall asleep but that’s when it hit me; I didn’t want to leave my family. I wanted to stay with my sisters and maybe become the heiress of the Smith legacy. by being away from my families, made me realize that i loved them and that I wanted to be with them. I was to tired to walk home so I called for a taxi. When I entered the cab the driver told me that everyone in town was looking for me. I was proud to answer him ‘ I’m coming home ‘.

At first I was afraid to go home. I was wondering what everyone was doing, and most of all I wondered if they even missed me. I stood on my front door and after a few deep breaths I knocked on the door.

As soon as Miley heard a knock, she ran for the door and when she saw it was her daughter, she jumped into her arms to hug her. She told her how much she loved her and how worried everyone had been. Not long after the whole family was hugging and crying tears of joy.

Everyone was so pre occupied during the past few days, that know one remember about the girls’ birthdays. It’s as if a miracle; Suzy coming home and a few hours later, all the girls becoming young adults. They were all so thrilled and everyone laughed at how unexpected it was.

I know this was a short chapter, but the next entry will be the heir vote !!

Great chapter! It always is that way, one they run away they miss their home. Im glad for Suzy, she is right where she’s supposed to be. The girls turned out great, but I have my eye on Sapphire as the heir!

I’m so, so, so, so, so (well, you get the idea) behind on my reading! And I do apologize! I promise, some time (hopefully this weekend) soon I will go back and pick up reading where I left off. You asked me to read and comment on my blog about a month ago. I DID read, but I didn’t comment. And now, school is back in session, and I’m substitute teaching in my spare time – needless to say, my schedule’s a little hectic. I’m very sorry though, and I will try my best to catch back up this weekend.

Im also happy that Suzy came back home. I was really worried! The girls all aged up beautifully, thought Sapphire is the prettiest. XD

I guess absence does make the heart fonder. She just needed some time away from them to realize that she wanted to be around them and would miss them.

I’m torn between the girls! I love Suzy but I’m curious about Sapphire.
